I love this album because it's Gasp on some science fiction dystopian shit. Not in an imagery-driven, pretentious way like I do it, nope, he spits gritty, real stories, creating the dystopian atmosphere through texture and nuance. Then there's Konchis, drawing on samples from a certain recent psychedelic SF film... the result is, to put it mildly, seriously impressive. Yet more evidence that Scottish hip-hop's creative renaissance continues apace - with no sign of slowing down, or selling out.
